Personal Reasons for This App ]]>

Personal Reasons for This App

Like many people, I use YouTube every day — for news, learning, and entertainment.
But over time, the experience started to feel frustrating:

  • The homepage kept pushing random content
  • My favorite channels were getting buried
  • Ads were everywhere
  • And there was no easy way to stay organized or watch later

What I really wanted was simple:
A quiet, focused way to follow the YouTube channels I care about, stay updated, and build my own channel and video library — without ads, without noise, and without relying on YouTube’s algorithm.

That’s why I built Viwella.

Follow Channels. Stay In Control.

One of the main reasons I created Viwella was to make following channels a more useful experience.
Instead of relying on YouTube’s unpredictable homepage, Viwella gives you a clean, dedicated space where:

  • You add channels or playlists you care about
  • New videos appear automatically as they're released
  • No algorithm interference, no distractions
  • Everything is organized the way you want

Whether you're following educational creators, independent journalists, or niche interests, Viwella helps you stay up to date — without missing uploads or sifting through noise.

Organize and Watch on Your Terms

Viwella lets you do more than just follow. It’s built for people who want to:

  • Create custom video lists for watching later
  • Group channels into categories to stay organized
  • Search videos and channels by keyword
  • Import/export channel lists via text or ZIP files
  • Pick up videos where you left off

And on desktop, you can open videos in separate popup windows while Viwella keeps track of what you've watched and where you paused.

Query Builder, Alerts, and Smart Search

If you want more control, Viwella also supports:

  • In-app keyword search across all saved videos
  • A Query Builder to create saved searches (which can act like smart channels)
  • The ability to assign alerts so you know when matching videos appear
  • Viewing engagement metrics like views and ratings in a clean chart

It’s a powerful way to explore topics, stay informed, and avoid getting lost in endless scrolling.

Privacy-First, Ad-Free, Distraction-Free

I built Viwella to serve my needs — not advertisers.
There are no ads, no tracking, and no algorithm deciding what you see.
It’s just a simple, focused way to follow channels, save videos, and watch content on your own terms.

Final Thoughts

Viwella was born out of personal frustration and a desire for a better way to watch videos.
If you’ve ever wanted to:

  • Truly follow YouTube channels you care about
  • Organize videos for later viewing
  • Avoid ads and recommendations you didn’t ask for
  • Watch videos without distractions

Then Viwella might be the solution you're looking for — just like it was for me.
